After submitting the visuals for “Can’t Do This Alone” last week, Wiki has finally released their new album. Demigod, which is produced entirely by Navy Blue. It comes with features from Earl Sweatshirt, Remy Banks, Jesse James Solomon, and more.
The record follows in the footsteps of three previous singles: “Promised” with MIKE, “Remarkably”, “Roof” and “Can’t Do This Alone”, which featured an appearance by the project’s sole producer, Navy Blue. The New York-based duo can be heard sonically pushing each other throughout the project, as Wiki talks about their experiences as a young artist working in the city.
The video for “Roof,” which dropped in August, found Wiki exploring the New York skyline as it spits poignant anecdotes about Navy Blue’s lush jazzy curls. “Remarkably” further showed Wiki’s remarkable talent with the microphone, as it skated over another granular soundscape. The liberation of Demigod marks Wiki’s second feature film in 2021 after sharing Nah-produced film Telephone booth earlier this year.
In addition to filing the new project, Wiki also announced a collaboration with the Warrior Shanghai brand. Together, the duo have designed a bundle of custom merchandise that includes sneakers, jerseys, t-shirts and hats on sale October 2 here.
The rapper also announced that he will perform an exclusive set of shows in New York City, including an album release night to celebrate Demigod October 8 at Soho Roof. He will then face the Knockdown Center on November 7 in support of Armand Hammer alongside Navy Blue, Quelle Chris, Saint Mela, Fielded, KALYANA and Dreamcrusher.
