Our client is an industry leading manufacturer and supplier of overhead and underground electrical and natural gas distribution products. The company offers an innovative portfolio of stock and custom products and the highest quality, value and service to customers in the utility, commercial and industrial sectors.
A leading private equity firm with extensive industry experience recently invested in the company and family shareholders will continue to drive the business. The company recently hired a CFO with a proven track record in private equity. The Corporate Controller will report to the CFO, enhance the capabilities and performance of the accounting team, and contribute as the #2 executive in the finance organization.
Desired work experience:
The position requires an accomplished accounting and financial executive with more than 7 to 10 years of experience in manufacturing companies, and a previous mandate with an audit firm would be advantageous. Ideally, he or she will have prior private equity and/or corporate experience and understand how to create and drive value and improvements throughout the investment cycle. The preferred candidate will possess exceptional cost accounting skills and extensive experience in the implementation and use of ERP and information systems.
Candidates should have experience building and improving a strong accounting organization, processes and team. While experience with large enterprise systems and processes is required, candidates should also possess a practical entrepreneurial style and the ability to prioritize and deliver results in smaller, leaner enterprises with limited resources.
Education, Compensation and Location:
The position requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, and a CPA, MBA, and/or relevant professional certifications are strongly preferred. The position includes a competitive base salary, annual performance-based incentive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package. The position is based at corporate headquarters in northern New Jersey.
