For those who kept special attention to the youth ranks of Juve at the time, they remain a little fond of Paolo De Ceglie. The left-back appeared on the scene at the start of the post-Calciopoli seasons as a product of the club’s youth sector.
After a promising loan to Siena in 2007/08, fans were delighted to see him return to Turin, alongside his primavera team-mates Claudio Marchisio and Sebastian Giovinco.
While Marchisio finally retired as a Juventus legend and Giovinco rose to worldwide fame scoring goals while playing on different continents, De Ceglie never really realized his initial potential, although he still managed to make over 100 appearances for the old lady.
However, the Italian’s experience with the club made him a valuable asset, and so he received a reminder from management. The 34-year-old is joining the primavera sector as a collaborator of the youth teams.
“Coming back to Juventus is an incredible emotion made up of indelible memories that have represented my life and my football career,” De Ceglie said in a post he posted on his personal Instagram account via JuveNews.
“Today we are leaving with a new adventure in a new form but with the same Juventus colors and the same passion. Fino Alla bien!”
