The Devils face the New York Rangers tonight in the first straight game that will see them play Wednesday in Toronto.

This is the third of four meetings this season between the Devils and Rangers and the first at the Prudential Center. The previous two meetings both took place at Madison Square Garden with the Rangers winning 3-1 and 4-3 in shootouts. Nico Hischier, Pavel Zacha and Jesper Bratt each have a goal and an assist in the two games for the Devils while Adam Fox, Mika Zibanejad, Chris Kreider and Kaapo Kakko each have a goal and an assist for the Rangers.

Devils Team Scope:

After a successful four-game home game that saw the team win three of four games, including against tough opponents, the Devils went to Western Canada last week and lost all three games by the same score. of 6-3.

With a pair of goals in the final game, Bratt extended his goalscoring lead with the Devils to 21, two ahead Jack Hughes – although Hughes has only played 42 games compared to 57 for Bratt.

Miles Wood skated with the Devils Monday in practice alone with Janne Kuokkanen and Tyce Thompson. All three could soon return to training.

Rangers Team Scope:

Rangers have won four of their last five games, including the other two games of their current three-game road trip. They won two tough games away from MSG last weekend, 2-1 at Tampa Bay on Saturday and 2-1 at Carolina on Sunday.

The Devils will wear their third black jerseys again tonight. Overall for the season, they are 5-4-0 wearing black.

Artemi Panarin leads Rangers in points with 72 in 58 games played. Chris Kreider leads the team in goals with 41. He is tied with Leon Draisaitl for second in the NHL in this category.
